- PROFILING ANALYSIS:
- Residential and Commercial:
- Although many people considered renewable energy alternatives because of their environmental stewardship and consciousness, most eventually installed technologies for economic reasons.
- Institutional:
- There are already a number of government incentive programs provided by the State of Vermont for public schools that allow easier access to renewable energy installations.
- Schools have the opportunity to lead by example in teaching students the benefits and viability of renewable techonology systems.
- Utilities:
- Vermont has begun to shift its electric power portfolio in the face of increasing oil prices and the approaching loss of Vermont Yankee and HydroQuebec as power sources.
- The utilities that are currently present in the state are very successful and will hopefully pave the way for more renewables in the Vermont energy portfolio.
- Residential and Commercial:
RESPONSE TO RESULTS:
Upon completion of the project, the group felt optimistic about the amount of renewable technologies in place in Vermont on every scale of development. We are also optimistic about the future of renewables in Vermont, both in utility projects and independent projects. We hope that this website will educate and assist Vermont citizens and others as they consider using renewable energies in the future.
